Panmure House Prize - 2025 Winner's Lecture

About The Event
The 2025 Prize was awarded to Professor Tima Bansal, Professor, General Management, Sustainability & Strategy at Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada. A year on, we welcome her to Edinburgh to deliver her winner's lecture, titled: "Executive Decision Making in a Complex Environment".
"Executives are trained to make decisions in complex environments in one of two ways: reduce the complexity or seek to map it in full. The first produces answers that are clean, clear, and confident, but often wrong. The second produces maps that are difficult act on. So we need to show an alternative approach to decision making under complexity." – Professor Tima Bansal

About The Panmure House Prize
The Panmure House Prize is an annual award for research that explores the relationship between long-term thinking and radical innovation. The Prize enables research that embodies Adam Smith's own approach to rigorous empiricism and long-term, inter-disciplinary thinking.
The Prize can be awarded to academics of any discipline and are judged by our specially appointed Panmure House Prize Panel. The Prize is administrated in partnership with FCLTGlobal and supported by Baillie Gifford.
Every donation is used to deliver our vision - a world in which business and governments serve the long-term common good; where policies and public discourse are inclusive, well-reasoned and founded on research. You can support us through our Donation Page.
