Lights of Caledonia with Jesse Norman

Three Hundred Years of Adam Smith

Three Hundred Years of Adam Smith

Professor Angus Laing, Executive Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University introduces the third speaker of the Lights of Caledonia series, Dr Jesse Norman. A current Minister of State and renowned biographer of Adam Smith, he discusses what Smith means today and the diversity of views with which he is held. Dr. Norman begins to re-shape this common narrative and highlight Smith's other works and beliefs in moral philosophical terms. The session is followed by a stimulating chaired Q+A session to a live audience in Panmure House.
