Haldane: The Forgotten Statesman who Shaped Modern Britain
This series of events is designed to celebrate Scotland’s intellectual and cultural contributions to the world, aptly delivered from the final home of Adam Smith, the father of modern economics. At this event, we welcome John Campbell OBE. John, known as Campbell, discusses the life and influence of one of the most extraordinary figures of British political history in the early 20th Century, Edinburgh-born Richard Burdon Haldane, Viscount Haldane of Cloan.
Chaired by Professor Adam Dixon, Adam Smith Chair in Sustainable Capitalism, the session is followed by a stimulating Q+A session to a live audience in the Lecture Room of Panmure House.
Haldane: The Forgotten Statesman who Shaped Modern Britain is available to purchase in our online shop.
