ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr Brian Bonnyman is a historian of eighteenth-and early nineteenth-century Scotland. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and the University of Edinburgh, his research interests focus on the relationship between the Scottish Enlightenment and the wider culture of improvement in eighteen-century Scotland. He has taught at the Universities of Dundee and Aberdeen and held honorary fellowships at the University of Edinburgh, the Research Institute for Irish and Scottish Studies at the University of Aberdeen, and the University of Dundee.
He is the author of The Third Duke of Buccleuch and Adam Smith: Estate Management and Improvement in Enlightenment Scotland.
