    Terms Of Engagement

Panmure House is enjoying a renaissance as Scotland’s foremost home of economic and social debate. As an intellectual endeavour, dedicated to the practical application of Smith's works here in the 21st century we deliver core programmes and research, and activity in collaboration with businesses, governments and organisations across the globe.

Panmure House is not a commercial university venue in the normal sense, bookable or serviceable in the usual way. There are restrictions placed upon the terms of its use, attributable to both mission and infrastructure. For clarity: we are not an events space available for commercial hire or university teaching or meetings.

Please note activities must directly and significantly draw upon and/or further the cultural relevance of Panmure House in its capacity as the former home of Adam Smith.

Subject areas that may fall into this category include: ethics, philosophy, economics, Adam Smith’s life and works, the Scottish Enlightenment, geopolitics, sustainability, and social theory.

If you would like to enquire about use of Panmure please contact us using the appropriate form.

If you are a Heriot-Watt University employee and wish to host an event please visit our dedicated Hub page.
